Transportation
The conference organisers will not be providing any transport, apart from bus travel to and from the ASM dinner, as well as the Observatories Tour venues. We can assist with directions and information about public transport in Perth. For more information about this, please visit the Transperth website or phone 13 62 13 (TTY: 9428 1999). Some specific details and additional options are included below.
Air
The Perth Domestic and International airports are about 11 km and 16 km north-east of the CBD, respectively. It is easily accessible by car, taxi, and bus. Taxi is probably the preferred option if there is more than one person, or if you have luggage. Taxi ranks are outside the terminal buildings, and fares are ~$30-35 to the CBD (~$40 to UWA), depending on traffic conditions. Transit times are ~20 mins from the Domestic Terminal to Perth CBD, ~25 mins from the International Terminal to Perth CBD, and an extra ~10 mins from the CBD to UWA.Two shuttle services meet both the domestic and international flights: Airport City Shuttle (tel: 92777958), and Fremantle Airport Shuttle (tel: 93351614).
Transperth Bus 37 departs outside the Virgin arrivals terminal, travelling to Perth city centre via St. Georges Terrace (transfer time ~40 mins). Buses leave the airport every ~30 mins during the day, hourly after 6PM, and all day Sunday.

Cab fares include a flagfall charge of $3.30 weekdays, or $4.80 in peak times, plus distance charges of $1.35 per kilometer. Surcharges may apply.- Black and white taxis: 13 10 08

Bus
Perth is separated into concentric travel zones centered on the CBD. All bus and train travel within the CBD is free, however travel to UWA or Fremantle will cost about $2-$3. Bus numbers 23, 78, 102, and 107 run through the Esplanade Busport and travel along Mounts Bay Road and Stirling Highway past UWA. The 107 continues on to Fremantle. "Circle Route" buses 98 and 99 travel in opposite directions around a large loop which includes stops at UWA and Fremantle train station (but not in the CBD). Bus 103 goes between East Perth and Fremantle via UWA, while the 97 goes between the Fairway at UWA and Subiaco train station.Train
Transperth trains depart from Perth station at Wellington St in the CBD, for the Fremantle station about every 10-30 mins, depending on the time of day. Transit time is about 20-30 mins. Tickets can be purchased on the platforms from coin-operated machines. Express trains running during peak hours (7-9 AM, 4:30-6:30 PM) do not stop at all stations - please check the timetables.Car Hire
There are a number of car hire companies operating from both the airport and Perth CBD. At carhire.com.au, you can find a comparison between hire companies.Parking at UWA
